The Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for their pivotal roles in the recent upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, to the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro.

In a statement personally signed by the Minister, Dr. Salako described the presidential assent to the bill as “another milestone achievement” under President Tinubu’s administration and a strong indication of the President’s inclusive and transformative approach to governance.

According to him, the elevation of the institution marks a new chapter in the educational advancement of Ogun West Senatorial District and reinforces the Tinubu administration’s commitment to equitable development across Nigeria.

“I join the good people of Ogun West Senatorial District, the immediate beneficiaries of the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro, and all lovers of education in Nigeria to thank Mr. President for making university education more accessible to Nigerians,” Salako said.

The Minister emphasized that the federal government’s current focus on infrastructural development is evident nationwide, with Ogun West not left behind.

He reserved special commendation for Senator Adeola, the sponsor of the bill, praising his vision and legislative tenacity.

“Senator Yayi deserves loud applause for this historic achievement. I also appreciate other members of the National Assembly, particularly those from Ogun West, who supported the bill’s passage,” he added.

Salako also congratulated traditional rulers in the region, particularly the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, noting that the university status would catalyze educational and socio-economic growth in the region.
