    SPPG kickstarts network of public leaders to drive governance

    The School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG) in Abuja on Friday unveiled the Network of SPPG Public Leaders, established to develop and support a new generation of public leaders who are committed to integrity, competence, and good governance in Nigeria.

    Speaking at the a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, Alero Ayida-Otobo, CEO of SPPG, noted that the School is targeted at driving disruptive leadership and improving governance in Nigeria.

    According to her. Since 2021, the School have graduated 758 changemakers across Nigeria, Senegal and has now expanded into Kenya, Ghana, Tunisia with a drive to strengthening a continent-wide initiative rooted in service, systems thinking, and disruptive leadership.

    She added that “This Network is a co-created and co-managed community by the SPPG leadership and the SPPG graduate community. It will serve as a lifelong platform for leadership development, collaboration, mentorship, and innovation. We are particularly honored that this launch coincides with a high-impact leadership development workshop in collaboration with Yale University’s International Leadership Centre (ILC).

    “This partnership reinforces our shared commitment to preparing African leaders to confront global and transnational challenges with character, competence, and capacity.

    “The Network of Public Leaders is built around four pillars, Lifelong learning and leadership development, Cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing. Mentorship and career advancement and Institutional continuity rooted in values,” she further explained.

    Also speaking, Dr Arinola Oloko Director, Network of SPPG Public Leaders, noted that at the moment, “The school is accepting applications for the Class of 2026. In addition, the application window for the Gerrard-Olisa Ashar Foundation Scholarship, which offers full financial support, is now open,”

    She further emphasized the need for reorientation on the part of Nigerians and finding solutions to issues affecting the country.
