A  total of 1.67 million pilgrims converged on the plains of Arafat on the pivotal Day of Arafat for the annual Hajj pilgrimage, and the event passed without any reported security or health incidents, Saudi authorities have confirmed.

Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Deputy Emir of Makkah Region and Vice Chairman of the Permanent Hajj and Umrah Committee, attributed the smooth and calm atmosphere to the Kingdom’s integrated service system and meticulous planning by leadership.

He said, “On this great day, pilgrims gathered at Arafat in devotion and reverence. Their transportation from Makkah and Mina was executed in record time under flexible and efficient plans, with no security or epidemic incidents reported—all by the grace of Allah.”

The Deputy Emir expressed deep gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for mobilising vast human and material resources to ensure the comfort and safety of the pilgrims.

He further acknowledged the direct supervision of Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, who oversaw all operational arrangements.

Prince Saud described the responsibility of serving the sacred sites as an honour and urged pilgrims to continue following official guidelines to maintain order and safety throughout the rites.

He also thanked security forces, volunteers, and service personnel for their dedication, stating, “Continue your noble mission. We are proud of you.”

Concluding his remarks, the Deputy Emir prayed that Allah accept the deeds of the pilgrims and grant them a blessed Hajj.

The Day of Arafat, considered the climax of the Hajj pilgrimage, is marked by intense prayer and supplication, with pilgrims standing on the plain of Arafat from noon until sunset.
