Abbas Tijjani MadaboA Kano High Court presided over by Justice Halima Aliyu Nasir, has sentenced a man, Anas Umar, to death by hanging for killing one Ashiru Abubakar.
It would be recalled that the incident happened in 2020 at Marmara in Tudun Wada LGA of Kano State when the convict reportedly beat Abubakar to death after a disagreement between them turned violent.
During the trial, the prosecution, led by Barr. Ibrahim Arif Garba, called witnesses to support the case. The defendant also testified in his own defence through his counsel. Barr. Shehu Sani.

In her judgment, Justice Nasir ruled that the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt and found Umar guilty of murder.
The judge said the convict had 90 days within which to appeal the judgement.
