The Nigerian Customs Broadcasting Network (NCBN) is seeking a strategic partnership with the Media Trust Group, publishers of Daily Trust newspaper, to foster collaboration in content creation and knowledge sharing.
This was disclosed by the Chief Executive Officer of NCBN, Jamilu Yusuf, during a visit to the headquarters of Media Trust in Abuja yesterday.
Yusuf emphasised the importance of synergy among media organisations, noting that the 21st Century economy thrives on collaboration rather than competition.

“We are here at Daily Trust to explore ways we can partner in content creation and knowledge sharing.
“We understand that the modern economy is one of collaboration, not competition, because the sky is vast enough for everyone to fly. We are still growing within the Nigerian Customs Service and the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, and we believe partnering with established media houses like Daily Trust will help us showcase Nigeria in a positive light,” Yusuf stated.
He added that the partnership could extend to advertising and other forms of media cooperation that would be mutually beneficial.
Responding to the NCBN delegation, Hamza Idris, the acting Editor-in-Chief of Daily Trust, who spoke on behalf of the Group Chief Executive Officer, expressed openness to the partnership.
He noted that Media Trust values collaborations that support journalism and business growth.
“It is indeed an honour that an esteemed organisation such as the Nigerian Customs sees the wisdom in collaborating with us. We are open to partnerships that will enhance media reach and effectiveness,” Idris said.
He reiterated that Media Trust maintains a balanced relationship with the Nigerian Customs Service, both in upholding journalistic integrity and fostering business engagements.
On his part, the Chief Operating Officer of Trust Radio, Muhammad Kabir Muhamma, welcomed the initiative and spoke on the growth of Media Trust from a newspaper company to a diversified media entity.
“We started as a newspaper but have expanded into broadcasting. We acknowledge the value of collaboration in modern media, and this engagement with NCBN aligns with that vision,” he stated.
