They were laid to rest at Hayi Muslim Cemetery,on Saturday evening, amid tight security.

Religious leaders in Mangu said relatives of the victims gave consent for the burial in Plateau to avoid creating tension in their hometowns.

Before the funeral prayers, religious leaders called on Muslim faithful to take the incident as the will of Allah and never take the law into their hands.

Sheikh Suleiman Haruna, a religious leader in the area who led the funeral, urged residents to remain calm and exercise patience, as the government promised to punish the perpetrators.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang condemned the incident, directing security agencies to arrest those responsible.
