The Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Chairman, Apostle (Dr.) Biodun Sanyaolu, has been invested as a Council Member of the Scout Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Council.
The colourful investiture ceremony held at the Scout Secretariat, Ita-Iyalode, Abeokuta, attracted several eminent personalities, including the Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu; President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Femi Segun; Justice A.O. Jibodu; the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola; and the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo.
In his remarks after the ceremony, Apostle Sanyaolu expressed appreciation to the association’s leadership for its unwavering commitment to youth development and character building.
He described his investiture as both “an honour and a call to service,” promising to support the vision of the association in nurturing disciplined, patriotic and responsible young Nigerians.
“I am deeply honoured to be part of this noble movement that has consistently shaped the moral fabric of our youths. I pledge to contribute my quota to strengthening scouting activities across the state,” he said.
The TESCOM boss also declared open a three-day workshop for CUB Scout Leaders, urging participants to embody the ethics and values of scouting in their conduct and engagements.
Earlier in his address, the Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Nigeria, Mr. Umar Mohammed — represented by the Assistant Chief Commissioner, Dr. Tola Adenekan — commended the Ogun State Scout leadership for its proactive programmes.
He appealed to Apostle Sanyaolu to encourage principals and teachers under TESCOM to participate actively in scouting activities to benefit schools and students.
In his opening remarks, the State Scout Commissioner, Pastor Olatunji Akinsanya, praised the Council’s continued support, noting that Sanyaolu’s inclusion would further strengthen the association and inspire greater achievements.
The event climaxed with a parade display by the State Scout Parade Team.
Dignitaries at the ceremony included the Principals-General for Ijebu, Egba and Yewa Divisions, directors from TESCOM, and executive members of the Scout Association.
