The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, on Friday vowed that the Nigerian Air Force would intensify strikes against insurgents, terrorists and bandits threatening the security and sovereignty of the country.
Aneke issued the warning during an operational visit to the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) Sector II at the 213 Forward Operating Base, Katsina State.
The visit was disclosed in a statement signed by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
Aneke said the Air Force would not back down until all violent groups undermining Nigeria’s peace were neutralised.
“We will not rest until every threat to our sovereignty is neutralised. Wherever they hide—forests, valleys or remote settlements—our forces will find them and strike with precision,” the air chief declared.
He reminded personnel that President Bola Tinubu had issued a clear directive mandating security agencies to eliminate all security threats without delay.
According to him, the recent acquisition of modern aircraft, advanced weapon systems and enhanced operational training places a heavy responsibility on the Air Force to produce visible, decisive results.
“Our security environment is evolving rapidly. It demands precision, innovation and relentless pursuit. Every flight must count,” Aneke told the troops.
The air chief praised personnel for maintaining pressure on criminal elements across all theatres of operation, noting that their resilience had resulted in recent gains in the North-West and other troubled regions.
He urged them to sustain the momentum and honour the sacrifices of fallen colleagues through discipline and mission focus.
Aneke also reiterated that troop welfare would remain a top priority under his leadership.
“A force that fights hard must also live well,” he said, assuring continued investment in intelligence systems, technology-driven operations and improved living conditions for personnel.
Earlier, the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, AVM Ahmed Idris, assured the CAS of the commitment of the Katsina-based personnel to his strategic directives.
A detailed operational brief was presented by the Air Component Commander, Air Commodore C.E. Illoh, highlighting recent successes and updated strategies against armed groups.
Aneke later inspected operational, engineering, logistics and welfare facilities before holding an interactive durbar with officers and airmen.
The visit, according to the statement, further reinforced NAF’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-led, precision-driven air operations aimed at securing Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
