Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, has called on Muslims across Nigeria to embrace unity, knowledge-driven faith, and active moral engagement in leadership.
He said this during the Da’wah Day 2025 organized by the Da’wah Front of Nigeria (DFN) at the Abeokuta Camp Ground.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that the former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Baba Adinni of Ogun State and Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, served as the Special Guest of Honour at the annual event, which drew over 5,000 participants, including scholars, politicians, entrepreneurs, and captains of industry.
Ambassador Isola, who received a standing ovation after a citation of his distinguished service in diplomacy, administration, and religious leadership was read, used the platform to commend the DFN for its organizational excellence, intellectual depth, and social relevance.
In his address, Ambassador Isola urged religious organizations to prioritize education, capacity building, and economic empowerment, referencing Surah Al-Mujadilah (58:11) which elevates those endowed with knowledge.
He stressed that a knowledge-driven faith strengthens both individual character and societal progress.
The diplomat emphasized the need for unity among Muslims, encouraging moral integrity in leadership and active participation in national governance, guided by the Qur’anic principle of justice in Surah An-Nisa (4:135).
Highlighting religious tolerance as a national imperative, he called on DFN to engage leaders of other faiths in future initiatives, stressing that diversity should foster understanding, not division, in line with Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13).
The occasion was further graced by royal and community leaders, including the Jagunna of Owu Muslims, Alhaji (Chief) Issa Adebola Adeyemi, representing His Royal Majesty, Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Prof. Saka Adelola Matemilola, and the Mogaji Adinni of Owu Muslims, Prof. Moruf Lanrewaju Adelekan.
The DFN’s women’s wing was prominently represented by Ameerahs from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti, Osun, and Ondo States.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of a special gift to Ambassador Isola, honouring his enduring contributions to religion, Ogun State, and Nigeria.
Speaking with newsmen after the ceremony, Ambassador Isola reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening interfaith dialogue, promoting education, and encouraging responsible civic engagement among Muslims, urging Nigerians to view religion as a unifying force for peace and development.
