The Bodija Estates and Environs Muslim Community (BEEMC) has inaugurated a new Executive Council, with former Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, SAN, emerging as Chairman, while Ibadan North APC chieftain, Alhaji Taofeek Olayiwola, was named Vice Chairman.
The new leadership was unveiled on Sunday during the 32nd Annual General Meeting of the community held at the BEEMC Central Mosque, Bodija Housing Estate, Ibadan, PLATFORM TIMES reports.
The well-attended AGM marked a transition in the affairs of the Muslim body, as members endorsed the new executive to pilot its activities for the next administrative year.
Other members of the Executive Council include Prof. K.K. Oloso as Chairman of the Board of Religious Affairs; Mr. Aiki Afeez as General Secretary; Alhaji Kolawole Abdulazeez, Assistant General Secretary; Alhaji Ajani Ahmad, Property Manager; Alhaja Nurat Adekunle, Treasurer; and Alhaja Aborode, Financial Secretary.

Also elected were Mr. Wahab Kamal Abiodun as Social Secretary; Mr. Akintunde Yusuf, Publicity Secretary; and Alhaja Balogun, Welfare Secretary.
Alhaji M.A. Siyanbade, Alhaja B.A.K. Giwa and Alhaja Fadhila Balogun were appointed as Ex-Officio members of the council.
Speaking at the inauguration, Chairman of the Shuura Electoral Committee, Alhaji Chief Gani Oladimeji, said the executives were selected after a rigorous screening process that considered professionalism, experience, areas of operation and capacity to deliver.
He charged the new leadership to remain faithful to the core objectives of BEEMC, stressing that the association was established to advance the cause of Islam and promote the welfare of Muslims, both men and women, within Bodija Estates and its environs.
In his acceptance speech, Olagunju thanked the Shuura Committee and members of the community for what he described as a transparent and credible process.
He pledged that the new council would work collectively to uphold the principles and objectives of the association, while praying for divine guidance to discharge its responsibilities effectively.
Founded in August 1992, the Bodija Estates and Environs Muslim Community was established to promote Islam as a religion and a complete way of life.
Its objectives include fostering religious, moral, social and spiritual development of Muslims, encouraging literacy and Islamic scholarship, strengthening cooperation among Muslim organisations, and promoting unity and brotherhood within the Ummah.
Over the years, BEEMC has grown into a key coordinating platform for Muslim communities across Oyo State, sustaining its founding mandate through religious, educational and welfare-driven initiatives.
