The Independent National Electoral Commission (Independent National Electoral Commission) in Ondo State has announced the commencement of the distribution of sensitive electoral materials ahead of the Ondo South Senatorial District bye-election.
In a public notice issued and signed on Wednesday, by the Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity, Olayinka Ogunseye, the commission stated that the exercise will cover the six local government areas participating in the bye-election.
According to the statement, the distribution of materials takes place at the Central Bank of Nigeria (Central Bank of Nigeria), Akure branch, Ondo State, on Wednesday.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that the commission invited political parties, security agencies, accredited election observers, civil society organisations, members of the press, and other stakeholders to witness the exercise.
INEC further assured the public of its commitment to transparency and credible electoral processes, noting that the distribution of sensitive materials remains a key step in ensuring a smooth and credible bye-election.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, reaffirmed the commission’s readiness to conduct a free, fair, and credible election, stressing that the will of the electorate would remain the ultimate determinant of the outcome.
He also assured stakeholders that the commission would continue to strengthen public confidence through openness and engagement in all electoral activities..
