… Kosoko explains why ailing actor cannot be moved from hospital

More than 300 spiritualists and other well-wishers have offered to assist veteran Yoruba actor, Alhaji Taiwo Babatunde Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, as concerns mount over his health.
Veteran actor, Prince Jide Kosoko, disclosed this in a statement shared on Facebook by popular actor Muyiwa Ademola on Thursday, while appealing to Nigerians and Ogogo’s fans to continue praying for the ailing actor.
Kosoko said the number of people offering spiritual, medical and other forms of intervention had risen to more than 300, with some estimates putting the figure above 500.
He, however, explained that the offers had created a difficult situation for Ogogo’s associates because the actor is currently receiving treatment in a hospital and cannot conveniently be moved from one location to another.
According to him, the inability of the family and colleagues to take Ogogo to individuals offering spiritual assistance should not be interpreted as a rejection of their goodwill.
“We have received offers from more than 300, and even over 500 people, each sincerely believing that they have something that could help him. The challenge is simply: Where do we take him to? And how do we move him from the hospital while he is receiving care?” Kosoko said.
He expressed appreciation to everyone who had reached out with prayers, encouragement and offers of assistance, describing the response as evidence of the widespread love for the actor.
Kosoko particularly appealed to those who had offered spiritual or medical intervention to understand the difficulty involved in moving Ogogo from the hospital at this stage of his treatment.
He said the family was deeply touched by the concern shown by fans, colleagues and well-wishers across the world.
“We sincerely appreciate every single one of them. However, we humbly appeal to everyone not to stop praying for Ogogo. Please, continue to pray with us,” he said.
Kosoko expressed optimism about Ogogo’s recovery, urging supporters to continue praying for him from wherever they were.
“We believe strongly that, with your prayers, our prayers, and the mercy of Almighty God, Taye will come out of this situation successfully. There is nothing impossible before Almighty God,” he added.
The statement did not disclose the nature of Ogogo’s illness or provide specific details about his current medical condition.
The veteran actor is a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry, with a career spanning several decades.
