….Says victory lies in Christ as Anglican Church celebrates Venerable Ladipo-Ajayi at 70

The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Yewa, the Right Rev. Michael Oluwarounbi, has urged Christians to align their lives with the will of God, saying that true fulfilment and contentment cannot be achieved without living according to divine principles.
Oluwarounbi gave the advice in Ilaro, Ogun State, during a special thanksgiving service organised to celebrate the 70th birthday and retirement from active church service of the first Dean of the Cathedral Church of Christ, Ilaro, Venerable Olusola Ladipo-Ajayi.
The bishop urged the celebrant and other Christians to maintain an attitude of gratitude and remain steadfast in their faith, regardless of the challenges they encounter.
He said victory over life’s challenges could only be found in Christ, encouraging believers to rejoice in all circumstances rather than allow difficult situations to weaken their faith.
Oluwarounbi also cautioned Christians against worldly influences and actions capable of undermining their integrity, stressing the need for those who profess faith in Christ to guard their conduct and protect their reputations.
He particularly urged elderly people to continually seek wisdom, noting that age should be accompanied by sound judgment, credibility and exemplary conduct.
The bishop’s message formed part of activities marking the milestone birthday and retirement celebration of Ladipo-Ajayi, who was honoured for his contributions to the spiritual and infrastructural development of the Anglican Church in Yewaland.
Ladipo-Ajayi, who became a full-time Anglican minister after retiring from his secular career as managing director of the Lagos State Insurance Hub, LASACO, was described as a figure cherished for his commitment to church development and spiritual growth across the area.
The thanksgiving service attracted prominent traditional rulers, church leaders, clergy members, family members, friends and well-wishers.
Among those present were the Archbishop of the Anglican Province of Ogun, the Most Rev. Fape, who was represented by his wife; the bishops of the Egba and Egba West dioceses; the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Dr Kehinde Olugbenle; and the Oloke of Oke-Odan, Oba Dr Oluwarotimi Fagbenle.
Also in attendance was High Chief Dr S.A.J. Ibikunle, alongside Anglican priests from the Diocese of Yewa and other guests.
In his appreciation, Ladipo-Ajayi thanked God for making his dream a reality and expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Anglican Church for giving him the opportunity to serve God more fully after his career in the insurance sector.
He expressed appreciation for the opportunity to devote himself to church service, describing the occasion as a moment to reflect on God’s faithfulness and the privilege of serving the church.
The celebration combined thanksgiving for the celebrant’s 70 years of life with recognition of his transition from a career in the corporate sector to full-time ministry and his service to the Anglican Church in Yewaland.
