Indication of the crisis emerged on Tuesday when some aggrieved members of the association ked by Sobowale Sobanke threatened physical attack on the leaders of the association

Sobanke claimed that he wouid attack them following their refusal to disburse the N50m .

Sobanke appealed to the state government, security operatives, particularly the Department of State Security Service and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, to help investigate the incident .

He accused the state chairman Adeleke Balogun and the Secretary, Segun Osho of embezzling the controversial money .

Abiodun had on March 13, 2023 paid a visit to the association ahead of the election and released the sum of N50 million for the association.l as kain facility among themselves .

Addressing newsmen on Tuesday, Sobowale alleged that the state executive of NATA has embezzled the fund.

He said that a paltry sum of N1 Million was released to be shared at the rate of N5, 000 each for the entire members at his own Mechanic Workshop in Laderin, Abeokuta.

He said that knowing the whereabouts of the fund would avert the looming bloodletting.

He asked that the entire NATA leadership in the state to resign from their position for a fresh election “according to the constitution of the association”.

The State chairman, denied the allegations, stressing that the entire money has been kept “at three different community banks” in the state.

Balogun promised to disclose identities of the community banks after some time.
