The  factional national Publicity Secretary of Labour Party,  Abayomi  Arabambi has  pleaded with the  Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba and  Director General of Department of State Service to  arrest  the presidential candidate of the party, Mr Peter Obi and  the factional national  Chairman, Julius Abure and  put them  under house arrest.

Arabambi claimed that their arrest and  subsequent house arrest would  save Nigeria democracy, saying that the duo were  hell bent on truncating May 29th inauguration of President-elect, Bola Tinubu .

The factional acting Publicity Secretary stated this on Monday in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, while addressing a press briefing on the crisis rocking the party .

The Labour Party has been enmeshed in internal wrangling which has escalated to the extent of parading three factional chairmen .

While speaking on the cause of the crisis, Arabambi claimed  that his  request for accountability on the money generated for the 2023 general elections to be threatening him .

He said he had   alerted the Inspector General of Police of some threat messages he  received from people believed to be supporters of  Obi and Abure.

Arabambi who showed Journalists some of the  threat text and WhatsApp messages  he received,  said he had already written the law enforcement agencies on the need  to save his life from those he alleged to be threatening him.

Arabambi said “These  two comedians,  due  to their habitual mood swings shamelessly  tasked the Nigeria Police and the Department of the State Security to invite me over a confirmed allegation of threats to my  life by Mr Peter Obi,Labour  Party’s presidential Flag bearer and Julius Abure.

” But, I would rather plead with the Inspector General Of Police and the Director General of Department of State Service to immediately put Mr Peter Obi and Julius Abure under house arrest to save Nigeria democracy as they are hell bent on truncating May 29th inauguration of President Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Failure of Julius Abure and Mr Peter Obi to  account for the money generated for the election amounting to several millions of dollars and his insistence that he must use the money for the purpose it was meant for, caused the crisis  among the National Working Committee members.

“Bringing of over two million  youths to Abuja under the guise of coming to pray for the success of Obi at the election petition tribunal is a ploy to cause unrest and destabilise the Federal Capital Territory , Abuja and  prevent  may 29th Inauguration.

He  however, called on the Inspector General of Police and Department of State Security to put Obi and  Abure under house arrest, alleging that  they are bent in truncating May 29 inauguration.

He alleged that instead for the duo to use the money for the purpose it was meant for, Obi took the money to Fidelity and Zenith banks and lodged it

He explained that prior to election, the National Working Committee   and the National Executive Council  met with  Obi over four times between June and August last year 2022 where it was  agreed  as follow  :
