The former governor of Ogun state, and Senator representing Ogun East at the 10th Legislative Assembly, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, has appointed a spokesman, Comrade Olawale Ismail, for the senatorial district.
Daniel made this announcement in a statement on Friday, signed by him, stressing that the appointment takes immediate effect.
He said Ismail will now be responsible to publicize anything concerning the district, adding that he’s also the mouthpiece Gateway Political Movement, which is a grassroots awareness and education platform initiated by the former governor.
“By his appointment, Comrade Olawale Ismail will coordinate publicity engagements in relation to legislative engagement of Otunba Gbenga Daniel in particular it pertains to Ogun East.
“Comrade Ismail will work in concert with cross section of stakeholders within the Gateway Political Movement for effective information dissemination as well as ensure meaningful interface between media actors and Ogun East Senatorial Office,” the statement read.
Ismail is a seasoned civil society and labour union activist who attended the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and the University of Abuja.
He has also served as the National Administrative Secretary of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
The public and journalists are hereby urged to channel every queries concerning the district to him whenever the need arises.
“The public and particularly the media are therefore advised to channel media / publicity related enquiries and correspondences with the Ogun East Senatorial District by liaising with the official spokesperson; Comrade Olawale Ismail,” it stated.
