In a bid to enhance the safety of troops and road users on highways, the 3 Division Nigerian Army (NA) has announced a strategic partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Major General AE Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 3 Division and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), reaffirmed the division’s commitment to ensuring maximum safety on the roads.

During a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of 3 Division in Jos, Assistant Corps Marshal Clement O Oladele, the Zonal Commanding Officer of the FRSC, discussed the importance of collaboration between military and paramilitary agencies to achieve road safety. Major General Abubakar emphasized the significance of education, training, and constant awareness among road users, highlighting the role of these factors in minimizing accidents.

Major General Abubakar also brought attention to the impact of drug abuse on road accidents and stressed the need for cooperation with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to address this issue.

He underlined the collaborative approach adopted by the Nigerian Military leadership, emphasizing its contribution to national security enhancement.

Assistant Corps Marshal Clement Oladele, in his remarks, commended the swift response of Major General Abubakar and OPSH in addressing security breaches in Plateau State.

He expressed his commitment to strengthening the existing partnership between FRSC and the military within the state.

Oladele further unveiled plans to implement identity plate numbers for all vehicles, a measure aimed at facilitating efficient tracking of criminals on the highways.

The meeting concluded with the signing of the visitors’ book and a group photograph, symbolizing the unity and shared goals of the collaborative effort.

This partnership between 3 Division and FRSC marks a significant step towards bolstering road safety and security across the region.
