The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) has reported a revenue of N482 million for the month of July, which is slightly lower than the N567 million generated in the preceding month of June.

In July, the total number of admissions to cinemas across Nigeria reached 218,395, representing an increase from the 210,299 recorded in June.

This was disclosed by the National Chairman of CEAN, Mr. Opeyemi Ajayi, noting that the cinema industry experienced a modest upturn in patronage during July.

However, he attributed this increased patronage to the occurrence of several public holidays within the month.

He therefore emphasized the importance of Nigerians considering cinema visits as a leisure activity to relax and unwind.

Mr. Ajayi stated, “The total sales for July amounted to N482,528,117, attracting an audience of 218,395 to our cinemas. The performance of cinemas is encouraging, but we are urging more Nigerians to embrace the habit of frequenting cinemas.”

In the same vein, he announced the upcoming film lineup for August, which includes titles such as “Akuddaya,” “Meg 2,” “Teenage Mutant Minja,” “A Bag of Trouble,” “Blue Beetle,” “Mikolo,” “The Modern Woman,” “Retribution,” and “Kesari.”
