The Ogun State So-Safe Corps has apprehended a notorious motorbike snatcher, Michael Olanrewaju, in Agbado Oke-Aro, within the Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the suspect was arrested at about 05:30 am on Tuesday, August 15.

According to the So-Safe spokesman, Moruf Yusuf, who said in a statement that the suspect had escaped arrest on several occasions and had sometimes left injuries on law enforcement agents during the course of his arrest.

Yusuf disclosed that the 26-year-old Olanrewaju, a resident of Abattoir Oju-Irin, Lagos State, “is known for snatching and stealing motorbikes and power generating sets in Ogun State.”

He added that he is also known as Skendu, and the suspect usually escaped to Lagos after every successful robbery operation in Ogun.

He noted that the young man was sighted by the corps’s undercover officers attached to Agbado/Oke-Aro/Ibaragun Area Command under Assistant Commander Akeem Olaiya.

“During preliminary investigation, the culprit confessed that he specializes in snatching and stealing motorbikes and power generating sets in Olambe communities and environs in Ifo LG.

“The suspect has been transferred to the Nigeria Police, Ajuwon Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution,” the statement concluded.
