Confusion has ensued at the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta, as a corpse was said to have mysteriously vanished from the facility’s morgue.
The incident left the hospital in a state of disarray, with the aggrieved family threatening a confrontation.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the missing corpse was mistakenly taken away and buried else where by a family.
This family was said to have come to pick the corpse of it’s dear member, but unintentionally took another corpse, resulting to a mix up .
According to the information gathered, the situation got escalated when the second family arrived to claim the body of its deceased and was shocked to find the body missing.
One of the affected families angrily and verbally attacked PLATFORM TIMES when contacted for her reaction.
The family member simply identified as Mrs Oguntuyo said ” it’s my father that died, so I can’t be happy about it.
“I have received many calls, and have spoken a lot already.
“You should be satisfied with what you have gathered”,she said as she hung the phone.
PLATFORM TIMES’s investigation revealed that the matter was resolved after the missing corpse was exhumed and replaced with the correct body that was mixed up at the morgue.
But, when contacted for reaction, the hospital’s Public Relations Officer, Segun Orisajo, expressed surprise, stating that he had no knowledge of the incident.
He said, “there wasn’t anything like that at all. I am not aware of any missing corpse at all.
“Every family is satisfied with our service and there’s no issue of any missing corpse as I’m speaking with you.”
He therefore maintained that no such event had occurred.
