In a recent development, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has issued a stern warning regarding the proliferation of fake and invalid employment letters currently circulating within the country.
The NSCDC has raised concerns over the increasing number of fraudulent schemes targeting desperate job seekers and has cautioned the public to exercise vigilance to avoid falling victim to these unscrupulous individuals.
According to a statement released by the NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi, the Corps has received numerous complaints from individuals who, in their pursuit of employment opportunities, have parted with their hard-earned money.
These victims have reportedly paid sums ranging from N250,000 to N500,000 for employment letters that have ultimately proven to be fake.
The Commandant General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, has taken a firm stance on the matter.
He emphatically declared that the misleading and criminal employment letters circulating in the country did not originate from the NSCDC or the Fire, Immigration, and Correctional Service Board. Instead, they are the deceptive creations of unidentified and faceless criminals preying on the desperation of job seekers.
Furthermore, the Commandant General has initiated a nationwide manhunt to apprehend the individuals responsible for disseminating these counterfeit NSCDC employment letters.
Encouragingly, these efforts have already yielded positive results, signaling a significant step towards bringing these fraudsters to justice.
This warning serves as a critical alert to the public, urging individuals to remain cautious and skeptical when encountering employment opportunities that seem too good to be true.
