In response to growing public concerns and the preliminary review of the circumstances surrounding the untimely demise of acclaimed music artiste Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command has initiated a comprehensive investigation.

In a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, it was revealed that Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, has directed the formation of a Special Investigation Team within the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to oversee the inquiry.

This Special Investigation Team, composed of seasoned homicide detectives, is entrusted with the task of gathering and examining all allegations, suspicions, and insinuations surrounding Mohbad’s death.

Their mandate is to conduct a professional, thorough, and timely investigation to establish facts, dispel doubts, and ensure justice is served.

The investigation may involve various protocols, including the possibility of exhumation, as well as the utilization of technical and scientific tools essential for the meticulous examination of such homicide allegations.

The Lagos State Government has pledged unwavering support to this investigative endeavor. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu assured this during a consultation with the State Commissioner of Police, emphasizing the need for an expeditious and thorough investigation to swiftly deliver justice.

The police have made a heartfelt appeal to the deceased’s family, friends, business associates, and anyone possessing valuable information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.

They can reach out to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department at 08036885727.

Cooperation from the public is crucial in ensuring a conclusive investigation of this case.

The Lagos State Police Command is committed to transparency and has promised to share progress on the investigation within the boundaries of legality and professionalism, keeping the general public informed as the case unfolds.
