The Ogun State Police Command, on Friday, apprehended some hoodlums who invaded Yobo village, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State.

This was revealed in a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, saying that the gunmen had invaded the house of one Wakili Olalekan in Yobo village.

In the statement, Odutola said the Divisional Police Officer of Ibogun, acting on a distress call from a community member, mobilised his men to the scene.

“The hoodlums were reportedly invited by Olusesan Ogaode, also residing at the same address,” Odutola stated.

In foiling the attack, the PPRO explained that the police officers from Ibogun effectively cordoned off the entire area.

“As a result of their efforts, eight suspected hoodlums were apprehended,” he said.

She identified the eight arrested men as: Adebila Adebayo, 32; Kola Amosun, 35; Abiola Lanre, 20; Fakeye Gabriel, 30; Lekan Adeleye, 15y; Adewale Ogaode, 26; Oluwasesan Ogaode, 25; Vincent Mercy, 20; and Ajibade Rachael, 19.

Odutola maintained that, “They had planned to go to carry out an attack on the village but the superior intelligence of the police countered their plans leading to their arrest.”

Items recovered from them include, one unregistered white Highlander, one unregistered Green Mazda 626 Saloon car, one live AK-47 ammunition, two live cartridges, two knives and charms.
