In a significant stride towards empowering the youth and fostering socio-economic development, the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has garnered praise for the establishment of a dedicated Ministry of Youth Affairs, marking a pivotal moment after 47 years since the inception of Ogun State.

The commendation comes from Ap. Dr. Tola Adenekan, the founding Coordinator and Patron of the Commonwealth Youth Organisation of Nigeria, Ogun State chapter.

Dr. Adenekan lauded Governor Abiodun’s visionary decision, expressed through a statement issued in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Dr. Adenekan emphasized that the separation of the Ministry of Youth from that of Sports signifies the state government’s commitment to harnessing the youth’s potential as drivers of economic growth and societal stability.

Drawing on his extensive experience, which includes serving as a former State Chairman and National Public Relations Officer of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Dr. Adenekan stressed that the creation of the Ministry of Youth Affairs is a testament to a 17-year advocacy effort, which, though previously unheeded, has now received its deserved recognition.

He went on to highlight the global trend of investing in the youth sector, emphasizing the numerous advantages it offers to the state.

Dr. Adenekan urged the government to maintain its positive youth development policies and initiatives.

Challenging the youth of Ogun State, Dr. Adenekan called upon them to reciprocate the government’s gesture by being innovative, creative, and proactive in keeping the Youth Ministry vibrant and effective.

In a show of solidarity, the Commonwealth Youth Ambassador pledged his organization’s support for government programs and initiatives.

He also committed to exposing the youth of Ogun State to global issues, leadership development, and economic empowerment projects, ensuring that the ministry’s objectives are realized.

The establishment of the Ministry of Youth Affairs in Ogun State is set to become a cornerstone in the state’s progress towards youth empowerment, fostering economic growth, and ensuring societal stability.

biodun’s visionary approach has not only earned him accolades but also set a new standard for youth development in the region.

With Dr. Tola Adenekan’s unwavering support and the dedication of the state’s youth, the Ministry is poised to make a lasting impact in the years to come.
