The Catholic Diocese of Yola, has made a significant impact by sponsoring the registration of 71 youths into various colleges and universities.

Each student received a generous amount of N100,000 to aid in their educational pursuits.

Moreover, the initiative extended its support to 150 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from formal camps—St. Theresa, Fofure, and Malkohi.

These individuals received essential starter packs for their businesses, fostering self-reliance and sustainability.

Dr. Stephen Dami Mamza, the Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, highlighted the comprehensive 14-month training undertaken by the beneficiaries.

The training covered psychosocial and spiritual activities, accompanied by monthly stipends to support their livelihoods.

During the announcement, Mamza urged the beneficiaries to act as ambassadors of peace, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the provided items for their intended purposes rather than selling them.

Helen Ibrahim, expressing gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, lauded the Catholic Diocese of Yola for its compassionate gesture through Mission Take Heart.

Regardless of denominations, religious beliefs, and tribal differences, she pledged to make optimal use of the knowledge and items provided.

The initiative’s impact goes beyond immediate relief, aiming to empower and uplift individuals for a brighter and more sustainable future.

The beneficiaries, now equipped with education and resources, are poised to contribute positively to their communities.

This initiative by the Catholic Church stands as a testament to the transformative power of community support and underscores the importance of extending a helping hand to those in need.
