The Nigerian Army has said that it   apprehended three fraudulent candidates involved in attempting to manipulate the recruitment process for the 86 Regular Recruits Intake in Lagos.

The  Army in a statement released by the Director Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, said that the arrest was made after a viral video surfaced on social media, revealing the suspects engaging in dubious activities to secure positions designated for candidates with Lagos State indigeneship.

Nwachukwu added that the NA, committed to upholding transparent and credible recruitment processes, emphasises that the arrest reflects its dedication to maintaining integrity and fairness.

The video serves as evidence of the meticulous procedures candidates undergo, with the State Representative playing a crucial role in scrutinising candidates’ state of origin to verify indigeneship claims.

The three fraudulent candidates, who attempted to short-change the system, are deemed to have breached the recruitment process significantly.

The NA assures the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to identify the extent of the fraudulent activities and any individuals or syndicates involved.

He said that the aim is to guarantee that only the most qualified and deserving candidates serve in the NA.

The military institution underscores its commitment to collaboration with relevant authorities, ensuring that those responsible for the misconduct face appropriate legal consequences.

Nwachukwu, asserts that the NA is unwavering in upholding the rule of law and delivering justice in this matter.

Prospective candidates are urged to adhere strictly to principles of honesty and integrity throughout the recruitment process.

Any attempts to manipulate the system will be met with the full force of the law, as the NA remains steadfast in recruiting the best individuals to serve the nation.

The institution expresses gratitude for the support and cooperation of the public in maintaining the integrity of its recruitment process.
