A recent investigation has uncovered that there is no truth to the rumours of a financial dispute between former President Muhammadu Buhari’s ex-personal assistant, Tunde Sabiu Yusuf, and billionaire oil mogul Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, popularly known as AA Rano, over a purported $400 million.
Contrary to earlier reports, no evidence of Sabiu slapping AA Rano for alleged financial discrepancies was confirmed .
It was also gathered that there was no business relationship between the two men that would warrant such a dispute over funds.
investigation also dismissed claims of AA Rano’s involvement in the alleged looting of $400 million by Sabiu, as President Bola Tinubu’s Special Investigator for the Central Bank of Nigeria, Jim Obazee, found no trace of Rano’s connection to the funds in question.
Furthermore, it was discovered that none of the individuals used by Sabiu to siphon funds during the Buhari administration were from the Northern region. Instead, the former president’s aide utilized individuals and companies from the South for this purpose, as confirmed by security sources.
A security source stated, “We’ve not found out that Sabiu gave any $400m to AA Rano, and both of them never fought over such money.”
Efforts to reach both Sabiu and AA Rano for comments on the matter proved unsuccessful at the time of press.
In response to the allegations, a chieftain of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) condemned the media report, describing it as “wicked, malicious, in bad taste, and aimed at maligning a gentleman businessman.”
The unnamed chieftain asserted that AA Rano had no business relationship with Tunde Sabiu and would not engage in illegal and unpatriotic acts.
It’s important to note that a recent online media report (NOT PLATFORM TIMES) had previously claimed a dispute between Sabiu and AA Rano over the mismanagement of $400 million, alleging that Rano was aiding Sabiu in laundering stolen billions through various investments.
