In a recent incident caught on video, a Nigerian police officer was seen demanding money from a motorist, insisting that the driver cannot proceed without paying the demanded bribe.
The viral video captured the officer warning the motorist to “Do sharp sharp and go now, if not, I will do my job.”
The erring policeman goes further, providing his Access Bank account details to the motorist, instructing him to transfer the money before being allowed to drive away.
Reacting to the incident, Muyiwa Adejobi, spokesperson for the Nigerian Police Force, condemned the officer’s actions, describing them as shameful and against professional ethics.
Adejobi assured them that they would investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate action.
Adejobi affirmed the initiation of an investigation into the case, stating, “Justice must be served.”
