    Tragedy: Student Ends Life After Parental Scolding In Ogun

    In a heart-wrenching incident, Abdur-Rahmon Sanusi, a student a Model School in  Obada Oko in Ogun State, was found dead after reportedly hanging himself. 

    PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, February 1, 2024.

    The tragedy unfolded when Sanusi, known for his punctuality, returned home unusually late from school and faced scolding from his mother. 

    An anonymous source revealed that his tardiness led to scolding, escalating when his lunch was discovered consumed by his father, leaving him hungry and vulnerable.

    The source explained that a barrage of scolding and unfortunate circumstances may have contributed to the extreme step taken by the young boy.

    Sanusi reportedly entered his room and used a belt to take his own life. 

    PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that the grim discovery was made by his parents as they entered the darkened home.

    Abdur-Rahmon Sanusi’s father, identified as a businessman at Destiny Estate beside Civil Defense Estate, Phase II Obada, resides with his family at the location. 

    The community is now grappling with the shock and sadness brought about by the loss of a promising young life.

    Efforts to contact the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Omolola Odutola, failed as of the time of filing this report. 

    PLATFORM TIMES observed that authorities were being expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.”
