The Nigerian Customs Service, operating through its joint border patrol team, Sector 4, has successfully intercepted a consignment of sex enhancement drugs valued at N19.6 million along the Sokoto-Jega Road in the Kajiji area.

Coordinating Comptroller Kolapo Oladeji revealed in a Thursday briefing that the seizure, based on intelligence reports, aimed to address the health risks posed by these dangerous drugs, some of which bore fake NAFDAC registration and expiration dates.

In addition to the sex enhancement drugs, the Customs team also intercepted counterfeit drugs with undetermined duty-paid values. Oladeji stressed the commitment to combating illicit activities that endanger public health.

The Coordinating Comptroller further disclosed the interception of trucks loaded with food items bound for Niger Republic through the Kebbi border.

He expressed determination to curb food smuggling amidst rising prices within the country, emphasizing the need to address the challenges posed by unpatriotic acts.

“We will leave no stone unturned to block food smuggling out of the country because of the current situation in the country,” Oladeji asserted.

He highlighted the impact of such activities on the nation’s food security, vowing to apprehend those involved in smuggling and ensure they face the full force of the law.

The Customs agency also reported the interception of 60 jerry cans of petrol along the Illela border, subsequently auctioned to the public.

The efficient operations underscore the agency’s commitment to maintaining border security and preventing the misuse of regulated substances.

It is essential to note that self-prescription or misuse of sex-enhancement drugs can lead to severe health risks, and authorities are actively working to curb the circulation of such illicit substances.
