President Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence in Nigeria’s ability to weather the current economic storm.

Addressing Afenifere leaders  at the residence of Pa Reuben Fasoranti in Akure, Ondo State,on Wednesday, the President highlighted his administration’s commitment to reforming the nation for enhanced efficiency, emphasizing the principles of fairness and equity.

Tinubu acknowledged the economic challenges facing Nigeria but remained optimistic about the future.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel,” he affirmed, taking full responsibility for the task at hand.

He reassured the nation that Nigeria is meeting its international obligations and affirmed the commitment to navigating the complexities on the road to prosperity.

In his efforts to reform Nigeria, President Tinubu outlined his focus on achieving fiscal and true federalism, advocating for a philosophy of equality.

Reflecting on past experiences, he drew parallels with his tenure as the former governor of Lagos State, highlighting how perseverance led to Lagos emerging as the fifth-largest economy in Africa.

President Tinubu underscored the importance of responsible growth for Nigeria, stating, “We must manage this moment with wisdom and grow Nigeria responsibly.”

He emphasized his determination to protect the nation’s economy from exploitation and vowed to re-engineer finances to curb selfish interests permanently.

Acknowledging the support and understanding of all Nigerians during tough economic conditions, President Tinubu assured the public that their patience and perseverance would yield positive results.

Pa Olu Falae, speaking on behalf of Afenifere, commended the President for his commitment to progress and expressed the family’s support, emphasizing the importance of fairness and courage in leadership.

In response, Pa Fasoranti urged President Tinubu to uphold integrity, competence, fairness, and courage, declaring these as the hallmarks of the Afenifere family.

The elder statesman commended the President for keeping his word and returning to the place where prayers were offered for his success, affirming the belief that a good government is possible under President Tinubu’s leadership.
