Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State have apprehended Muhammad Munzali from Kaura Gidan Damo, Shanono Local Government Area of the State,while attempting to sneak into the female hostel of Skyline University Nigeria.
The university is located along Sardauna Crescent, Nassarawa GRA, Kano State.
The arrest, carried out by NSCDC officers from the Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Department, around 10 PM on Wednesday.
Disguised in women’s clothing and adorned with local charms, the suspect’s infiltration raised serious concerns.
Ibrahim Abdullahi, the NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Friday.
Abdullahi noted that investigations are ongoing to ascertain Munzali’s motives for intruding into the private university’s women’s hostel.
This incident underscores the imperative for heightened vigilance, particularly around educational institutions.
Mohammed Falala, the State Commandant of NSCDC Kano Command, emphasized the need for intensified surveillance during a recent strategic meeting with management.
The directive aimed to fortify both public and private educational institutions in the state against potential threats posed by criminal elements.
This arrest echoes a similar incident in 2021, where an unidentified man disguised himself and infiltrated the female hostel of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The man was apprehended and stripped by vigilant students, highlighting the importance of maintaining security measures within university premises.
