Former Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi and former Head of Service,Dr. Nafiu Aigoro have lauded the Muslim Community of the state Hospital,Ijaye,Abeokuta over the annual Ramadan Lecture.
The Community organised this year Annual Public Ramadan Lecture on Wednesday with the theme “Muslims in Nigeria Present Situation: Tawaqul as a Coping Mechanism.”
Speaking on the topic, the guest lecturer,the Grand Mufti of Owu Kingdom, Imam Idris Ayinde, emphasized the importance of time consciousness among Muslims.
Quoting the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), he urged attendees to value time, as it is a manifestation of Allah’s sovereignty.
He stressed that Allah controls time in all its aspects, including moments of hardship and joy, and therefore, Muslims should trust in Allah’s divine plan.
Ustadh Ayinde highlighted the significance of understanding Allah’s control over time, citing verses from the Holy Qur’an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
He cautioned against abusing time, as it ultimately reflects a lack of reverence for Allah, who governs all temporal affairs.
The event, chaired by former Head of Service, Dr. Nofiu Aigoro, received commendation for its significance in fostering unity and spiritual growth within the Muslim community.
Dr. Aigoro urged attendees to collaborate and pursue collective goals for the betterment of society.
Special guest of honour, former Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi, lauded the community for organizing such a meaningful programme.
He encouraged continuous engagement in similar initiatives to promote unity and collaboration among members.
Dr. Mazeed Oloko, Chairman of the Muslim Community of Ogun State Hospital Abeokuta, highlighted the organization’s objectives and activities aimed at promoting Islamic values and providing support to its members.
He said the activities include sensitization on prayer timings, monthly religious programmes, healthcare assistance to the needy, and community outreach initiatives, among others.
Dr. Oloko explained that the Annual Public Ramadan Lecture serves as a platform for spiritual enlightenment and communal engagement, reaffirming the commitment of the Muslim community to uphold Islamic principles and contribute positively to society.
