The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has taken a strong stance against the abhorrent practice of jungle justice, emphasizing its detrimental impact on human rights and the administration of justice.
According to Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the force, jungle justice constitutes a grave violation of human rights and severely undermines the effective functioning of the justice system.
He stressed the importance of civilians and local vigilante groups understanding the dire consequences of taking the law into their own hands.
Adejobi reiterated the NPF’s condemnation of jungle justice, labeling it as a criminal act that obstructs the progress of the criminal justice system.
He urged the public to refrain from resorting to mob actions, extrajudicial killings, or any form of vigilantism in their quest for justice.
