In an effort to curb Incessant ‘one-way’ traffic offence, the Lagos State Government has given a stern warning that culprits will undergo psychiatric test and face prosecution.
This warning was sounded by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi on Tuesday during the 2024 ministerial briefing on the activities of the ministry since the inception of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’ administration.
Osiyemi who described the issue of driving against the flow of traffic, popularly called “one-way”, as a worrisome issue, ascertained that the state government is on course to put a stop to it.
Speaking at the commencement of the programme which was held at Alausa, Ikeja, the commissioner warned that all erring road users caught in the traffic offense act will be subjected to psychiatric test and prosecuted in accordance with the traffic laws of the state.
His words: “The menace of driving against flow of traffic is worrisome and the state government is determined to curb it.
“Henceforth, any offender apprehended will be taken for psychiatric test as well as prosecuted according to Lagos State Traffic laws.”
Also addressing the issue of unrecognized personnel posing as workers of the Ministry of Transportation, Soyemi detailed that any of such personnel caught on the users should be reported using the given hotlines: 09020009000, 09020004000.
