AMBROAD Pledges To Uphold Transparency, Calls For Govt. Support

In a bid to foster integrity and professional excellence within the media industry, Alhaji Abdul-Razzaq AbdulGaniy, the President of the Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (AMBROAD), has committed to upholding transparency and ethical standards.

This pledge was made during a Thanksgiving service held at the African Solution Camp in Ewang Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State, to celebrate the successful completion of recent national and state elections.

Addressing the congregation, AbdulGaniy emphasised  the association’s dedication to fulfilling its constitutional duties both under the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the internal guidelines of AMBROAD.

“We want Nigerians to expect something great now that ANBROAD is stable.

“We will do our work as expected by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the constitution of ANBROAD,” he asserted.

In his speech, AbdulGaniy called on the government to support the media’s role in society by allowing journalists to operate without undue restrictions.

He stressed the importance of media freedom in ensuring that professionals can report accurately and responsibly.

“Give the media an opportunity to say something when we see something, we will do it in a professional way,” he said.

The Bishop of the African Church, Rt. Rev. Jeremiah Okunlola, who was also present at the service, echoed AbdulGaniy’s sentiments.

He urged AMBROAD members to remain truthful and committed to their professional duties.

Okunlola praised the association for its efforts in keeping the public informed and educated, highlighting the essential role of broadcasters in society.

The event also served as a reminder of the recent elections within AMBROAD, which saw the election of its first set of national leaders.

Alhaji Abdul-Razzaq AbdulGaniy, known widely as Mr. G.R.A., was elected as the inaugural President of the association.

Alongside him, the renowned Abeokuta broadcaster Akinyemi Olatoye, popularly referred to as Alawiye Federation, was chosen as the Vice President 1.

The newly elected leaders have expressed their commitment to advancing the standards of broadcasting in Nigeria, with a focus on transparency, professionalism, and public service.
