The Nigeria Police Force, via the NPF National Cybercrime Centre, has apprehended popular Nigerian prankster, Ubani Zion Chibuike, widely known as ZFancy.

The arrest took place at an apartment in Wuye, Abuja, following the spread of disturbing videos on social media that falsely implicated him in serious crimes.

The videos, which went viral, alleged that ZFancy was involved in heinous acts, including rape.

This misinformation triggered widespread fear and anxiety among social media users.

In his defense, ZFancy later admitted that the videos were scripted and were part of a misguided attempt to regain his lost fame after a hiatus from the limelight.

Despite his explanation, the Nigeria Police Force has emphasized that such actions carry severe consequences and will not be tolerated.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, spoke on the matter, stating, “The Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring public safety.

We will hold accountable anyone whose actions incite fear or disturb public peace.

The recent activities of Mr. Chibuike, under the guise of entertainment, crossed the line by creating unnecessary panic and fear among the public.”
