The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, has formally recognised the Premium Radio Chapel as a member of the union.
The official presentation of the letter of recognition took place on Thursday, at the NUJ Secretariat in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Speaking at the ceremony, NUJ Chairman Comrade Wale Olanrewaju lauded the Premium Radio Chapel for fulfilling all necessary requirements to gain this prestigious acknowledgment.
He.stated that the recognition is in strict adherence to the NUJ’s constitution, particularly Articles 3 and 5(f) as amended.
“This recognition underscores the commitment of the Premium Radio Chapel to uphold the standards and ethics of journalism as prescribed by our union,” Comrade Olanrewaju stated.
He further assured that the state council would advocate the chapel’s recommendation for recognition at the National Secretariat level, ensuring their full integration into the broader NUJ community.
The Premium Radio Chapel comprises journalists from various privately-owned radio stations across Ogun State.
Members of the Premium Radio Chapel expressed their gratitude and commitment to maintaining high journalistic standards.
“This recognition not only validates our hard work and dedication but also motivates us to continue delivering quality and ethical journalism to our audience,” one member remarked.
The inclusion of the Premium Radio Chapel into the NUJ fold is expected to enhance collaborative efforts among journalists in Ogun State, fostering a more robust and unified media presence.
The move also aligns with the NUJ’s ongoing efforts to strengthen professional journalism and promote transparency and accountability in media practices.
