PR Primus Limited, a leading public relations firm, has lauded the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for its notable achievements under the leadership of Dr. Ike Neliaku.
The commendation comes as NIPR celebrates 60 years of public relations practice in Nigeria, a milestone that has seen the institute make significant strides in the field.
In a statement released by the Managing Director of PR Primus, Mr. Akin Okudero, the firm praised NIPR for its transformative efforts, including unprecedented membership growth and the successful hosting of the inaugural Public Relations Week in Ogun State.
He added that the institute has also fostered partnerships with tertiary institutions and various government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), positioning public relations practice in Nigeria as a leader on the African continent.
“Public relations practice in Nigeria has become the cynosure of all eyes across Africa, with practitioners breaking new grounds and expanding the frontiers of the profession,” Okudero remarked.
As part of its celebrations, PR Primus Limited will mark the 10th anniversary of its flagship programme, “YOUR IMAGE PR,” on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel in Abeokuta. Over the past decade, “YOUR IMAGE PR” has been a staple on OGTV channel 25uhf, DStv 260, GOTV 133, and STARTIMES 113, providing insights into reputation management, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The anniversary event will feature a keynote lecture on “The Role of Public Relations in Promoting Art, Culture, and Tourism,” delivered by Prince Yemisi Shyllon, Founder of OYASAF. Additionally, PR Primus has planned an Empowerment Scheme to support indigent students and entrepreneurs, honoring the late Communication Scholar, Professor Lai Oso, and former Head of Service of Ogun State, Engineer Lanre Bisiriyu.
