The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has enforced disciplinary measures against five students following incidents of misconduct on campus.
In an official statement released on Monday, the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, announced that the students faced expulsion and rustication after a thorough review by the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.
Akogun said the Vice-Chancellor approved the recommendations on July 5, 2024.
He added that two students, Olayoonu Oladayo Amos from the Department of Human Kinetics and Ibrahim Taoheed from the Department of Education Management, were expelled.
He said the expelled students are no longer permitted to continue their education at UNILORIN.
According to him, the three other students were rusticated, effectively suspending them for one academic session.
He disclosed that the rusticated students include: Olabanji, Toluwanimi David (Matric. No. 21/52HL103), from the Department of Communication and Information Science, Dosunmu, Ezekiel Olabanji (Matric. No. 20/66MG101), from the Department of Marketing, and Obadairo-Yusuf Adedoyin Babatunde (Matric. No. 20/52HP052), from the Department of Telecommunication Science.
