In a decisive move to uphold the integrity of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, the NYSC has invalidated the certificates of 101 graduates from the University of Calabar (UNICAL) who were mobilized during the 2021, 2022, and 2023 service years.
According to a statement issued by Eddy Megwa, Director of Information and Public Relations at the NYSC, the affected graduates were found to have been mobilized through fraudulent means.
The NYSC has promptly canceled their certificates to prevent unqualified individuals from participating in the service program.
The NYSC has urged all stakeholders, including Corps Employers, Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), corporate and religious organizations, multinational companies, and Corps Producing Institutions, to diligently verify the authenticity of certificates presented to them.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that this measure is part of a broader effort to reinforce the credibility and reliability of the national service programme.
