Former Chelsea star Jason Cundy has revealed that Arsenal will sack their manager Mikel Arteta next summer if he fails to win the Premier League title this season.
Arsenal are expected to, once again, go toe-to-toe with Manchester City for the league title this term.
The Gunners came close to winning the Premier League title in the last two seasons but finished in second place behind Pep Guardiola’s side.
However, Cundy believes that Arsenal’s squad is ready to win the English top-flight title this term and Arteta could be sacked if he fails to win it for the Premier League north London club.
Speaking with Tom Garratt on the NetBet podcast, Cundy said:
“If he [Arteta] doesn’t [win the Premier League title], I think he will probably be gone in the summer.
“I think that Arsenal are ready to win this title. And it breaks my heart saying it. He’s spent a lot of money. This squad is primed right now.”
