Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has revealed the major problem with the club’s £89m signing, Mykhailo Mudryk.
Mudryk has largely struggled since joining Chelsea in 2023.
Speaking about the Ukrainian international following Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League play-off 2-0 win over Servette on Thursday, Maresca said the winger’s major problem is ‘choice’.
He said the 23-year-old often makes ‘mistakes’ in the final third, adding that he is going to try and help improve the player this season.
“I think this is Misha, this is Mudryk, in terms of not only tonight, but in terms of since he joined the club,” Maresca said.
“This is Misha. If he can become more consistent, he can take one step forward. We are going to try and help him change.
“He needs to try and understand that we are going to give him the ball in the last third. And when he’s there [it’s about] taking the right decision.
“For me, most of the mistakes from Misha are not about the quality or the technical mistake, it’s about the choice. Hopefully we can help him and improve that.”
