Osun-born Ajao Samson has been confirmed as the new world record title holder for the longest marathon read aloud by the Guinness World Record, GWR.

Ajao made the announcement public in a post on his Facebook wall on Friday.

Ajao wrote in the post: “I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to God, my family, friends, and an indefatigable team for making the big dream come to reality.

“Today, I was confirmed as the new world record title holder for the longest marathon reading aloud by the Guinness World Record. I am glad to be an advocate for literacy development.”

DAILY POST recalls that in May 2024, Ajao, who hails from Iwo town and is a former student union president of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, attempted to set a new Guinness World Record.

Ajao had intended to set the record for the longest reading time with a 214-hour marathon.
