Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has confirmed the club is in the market for a new striker.
The Blues saw a move for Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion fall apart earlier this summer.
They have also been linked with Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.
Maresca, speaking to the media on Friday, has now said they need a striker that can “help” the team.
He said: “If we have the chance to bring in a nine that can help us and make the difference… then, we are gonna try.”
Nicolas Jackson started the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League opener on Sunday, while Marc Guiu was picked for the UEFA Conference League play-off first leg against Servette on Thursday.
Transfer: We will try – Maresca confirms Chelsea’s plan to sign new striker
