    Prospective NYSC member regains freedom after one year in kidnappers’ den

    One of the prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, Solomon Bassey Daniel, kidnapped on August 17, 2023, has been released by his captors.

    Recall that Daniel, alongside his seven colleagues and the driver of the Akwa Ibom Transport Corporation, AKTC, were kidnapped along Zamfara road while heading to Sokoto for the national assignment.

    The other seven victims were released, remaining Daniel, who it was gathered the family could not pay the ransom.

    Citizen Matthew Koffi Okono of ‘Open Forum’ who has been pushing for the release of Daniel disclosed this on different WhatsApp platforms, Friday night.




    While thanking the public for their prayers during Daniel’s days in captivity, he said it was God that made his release possible and never mentioned if ransom was actually paid.

    Okono revealed that Daniel is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

    He wrote, ‘‘FINALLY, SOLOMON BASSEY DANIEL IS FREE’’

    ‘‘God did what only He can do.

    “He’s currently receiving medical attention.

    “Thank you all for the prayers.

    “To God be the glory.’’
