Transfer: Again, Barcelona midfielder refuses to leave Hansi Flick side despite being forced

Again, Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, refused to leave the club this summer.

The midfielder had two summers ago turned down a move to Manchester United even after the club tried to force him out.

He had rejected a move to Old Trafford even after the two clubs reached an agreement.

The Dutchman’s future was subject to speculation throughout the just concluded transfer window.

De Jong has been an integral part of the starting XI in recent seasons, although he struggled with injuries last campaign.

However, his stock remains high and he was not short of options this summer either.

Manchester United are long-term admirers of the 27-year-old and were also looking for a new midfielder this summer.

The Catalans were again apparently willing to offload him to help address their poor finances.

The Dutchman was offered to several European powerhouses, but he refused to leave the La Liga giants.

United went on to strike a deal with PSG for Manuel Ugarte.

The midfielder is happy at the Catalan side and wants to play under Hansi Flick.
