A human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong has accused Godswil Akpabio-led Senate of only serving the interest of President Bola Tinubu.
Effiong described the current Senate as the worst the nation has had, adding that it approves everything and investigates nothing.
In a post on his X handle on Sunday, the human rights lawyer said those that voted for Tinubu because of tribal and parochial sentiments will suffer for it.
Effiong said: “Akwa Ibom people that voted for Tinubu because of Godswill Akpabio, how’s this economy treating you people? I want to know how “your son” being in the government and occupying the office of the Senate President has changed your lives?
“By the way, this present Senate is the worst we have had. This is a Senate that approves everything and investigates nothing. It is a Senate that only exist to serve the interest of Tinubu. A Senate that sleeps while the nation is burning.
“Apart from the few individuals who are getting political appointments and financial rewards because of the influence of Akpabio, was the support given to Tinubu worth it?
“When you let tribal and parochial sentiments to determine your political decisions, you’ll suffer for it.”
