Former goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale has insisted that he tried his best to change Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s mind in a bid to get back into the Gunners’ starting squad.
Ramsdale spoke while reflecting on his move away from Arsenal to Southampton this summer.
The Englishman, who was a former Arsenal’s number one, left the Premier League North London club to join Southampton after losing his position to David Raya last season.
“A manager’s decision is a manager’s decision,” Ramsdale told talkSPORT ahead of Southampton’s Premier League tie with Manchester United on Saturday.
“I tried my best to change Arteta’s mind and force my way back in. His mind was set… and David Raya had a great season.
“It was tough but now I found a new home.”
