Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has given the reason he didn’t include Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia and Wes Fofana in his side’s UEFA Conference League squad for this season.
Recall that Maresca recently announced his squad and omitted the three players.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League tie with Bournemouth on Saturday night, Maresca said he didn’t include the three players in his side’s Conference League squad because he wanted to protect them.
“The reason why Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia, and Wes Fofana are out of the Conference League squad is because we try to protect them,” Maresca said.
“Cole is fit, he’s fine. We are happy with how he is,” the Italian added.
